DSLR that creates Nkon RAW (NEF) or JPEG formats on a DX sensor. Practically any lenses or external accessories you add to this camera will work if you later upgrade to a more professional camera, but if all you want is a way to take far better shots than a phone or point and shoot camera, you may never need to upgrade. The quality of the images taken on this body is fantastic, and most of what you gain by spending hundreds or thousands more is bigger images, higher ISO ("film speed") and faster processing.
The shutter count is a low 7100, because I got another Nikon body with a bigger viewing screen - easier to see with older eyes! - and I only kept the D70 as a spare and for group photos with a wireless remote, a feature not built-in to later bodies.
This is your chance to get the equipment to learn what photography is all about.
